Sentinel verifies; it does not make backups. Keep your original files until you have independently tested a restore.

The service

Photo Backup Sentinel is a local browser utility that compares user-selected media files using content hashes and performs a sampled open/read check. A hash match is evidence of identical bytes at check time. A sampled read is not a complete playback, codec compatibility, media longevity, or future restore guarantee.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for choosing the intended source and destination, maintaining multiple independent copies, safely ejecting storage, and periodically restoring representative files. Do not delete originals solely because of a Sentinel result.

Sentinel Pro

Sentinel Pro costs $19 as a one-time purchase and unlocks a 30-check local evidence timeline for this product. Checkout, receipts, taxes, and refunds are handled by Sociobot/Dodo as merchant of record. A refunded, revoked, expired, or wrong-product license will no longer unlock Pro. The free checker and local exports remain available.

Availability and changes

The app may be updated to improve format support, browser compatibility, or security. Offline use depends on a successful initial load and the browser retaining cached files. Direct phone access is constrained by browser and operating-system permissions.

Warranty and liability

The software is provided “as is,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors are not liable for data loss, storage failure, or indirect damages arising from use of the app.
